Indeed. Because they're two pretty people and saw each other one day and went, "hey, you're attractive, I'm attractive, let's go have sex." Or you know, something like that.

I've been handwaving it a lot because it's mostly a plot device to avoid the "played fiddle in a contest against the Devil and won" thing. Though I've decided he's started getting random flashes from time to time of his life before the Deck.
