Monthly Roundup

So yes, there are technically about two more days left, but I'll add those in as threads are posted. This is a quick, dirty summary about everything that went on this month! Also known as the Monthly Roundup. This is the quick, easy way to keep up with everything (or at least find the quick plot related things.) IF I have missed labeling Plot Related threads, please let me know <3

Also- For the next month! I am accepting volunteers to help with the write ups! This month I owe Muzy a big 'Thank you' for the help. :)

[August]

August might be the Dog Days of Summer, but in the Deck everything keeps hopping and popping. From a week long festival that started with the Club Revue and ended with the Spade Ball- one thing after another kept popping up. Ceiro banished Laureline Novak for trying to kill him- an unpopular choice in most people's opinions. And then he stepped down, in an effort to go and get better. Hadyn Novak made it to Nine, which was...not all too surprising. And lets not forget all the Olympic celebrations. Because no matter how long an Outsider has been in the Deck- They still have a bit of the Outside within them.

1st - 4th

Monty - Is starting to feel his age, but he's still challenging up the Ranks, aiming at Five. This Handy man is going to try to show some Spades what it really means to be a cowboy.
Renee - Invited all the Ladies for a little party in the Diamonds garden. Everyone is invited- just one rule...No men allowed. Sorry Gents, maybe next time.
Säde - Hosted a little Meet and Greet for the Arcana Envoys. This little session was all about sharing what you know...and who you know. Secrets, after all, never got anyone anywhere.
Blythe - Was feeling a bit nostalgic, cheering on the USA to Gold. One thing about the Deck- you can take the girl out of the Outside, but you can't take the Outside out of the girl.
Renee - hosted her Tea Time, and it was quite the hit. But Vasya...A hat doesn't get you through the door. What did we tell you? No Boys allowed. This is a strictly Girls Night In.
Victor - Watch out, Hearts, this Spade will leave a trail of tears in his wake. Victor's a man of few words, but that didn't stop him from crushing the heart of his would-be-in-law.
Hadyn - Is calling in favors, and discovering some secrets certain people would best left unfound. But if Dr. Cataldo didn't die in a drunk car accident, the question is how did he die, isn't it? *Plot Related Thread*
Eileen - Came home with a lot of stories to tell about her trip. This Ace of Clubs seems more than willing to share her new discoveries with the willing ear.
Zoe - Turns to cooking her troubles away, given that her newly discovered Brother (who happens to be her former Best Friend) has been off Deck for some time. And then there was that nasty business with her mother. But don't worry, friends come by to make things better. And Sandy even comes baring interesting song selections for the Revue.
Briony - Has delivery day every Friday, and every Friday she carries boxes across the deck to deliver them safely to their clinics. But this feat is sometimes complicated by that ever so helpful pup of her's.
Meghana - Braves the world outside of Cyberspace for a Date with her boyfriend Jordan. And then she's let in on a little family secret- Hadyn's only the half-brother. Judging by her reaction- she wasn't expecting that.
Athena - Returns home, safe and sound. But the mess she finds isn't quite what she was expecting. Nor were some of the people- like an old flame perhaps?
Gabe - Hadn't been expecting the day he got, but he doesn't seem down about it at all. If anything there is a little more bounce to his cleaning up that old bar, isn't there?
Leona - Is giving the Deck its own version of the UK invasion- surly the Beatles can make room for her in the line up right? She's sporting enough British Pride, after all. With those shoes and that....dress? Well, if you can call it that.
Ѧ The Tower - Went on a date with one of his fellow Arcana. It was a bit of a shock but, lets face it people. He his male, and he just has needs. Some even include more than 'Hulk Smash'. Who could have guessed that?
Greylan - Just keeps having surprises up his sleeves. This one is a doozey too. He asked Amy out to the Ball, and then settled for a movie night when denied.
Tobias - Went out for some serious drinking, and alone time. What he got was a train wreck by the name of Leona. And an old friend a bit after. Surely only good can come out of days like this. Right?
Vasiliy - Tried to take a nap on the Green.... Then he learned why not even Kittens make that mistake. Because a slumbering Diamond is far too tempting to steal...or just poke with a stick.
Abby - Is a lost Heart. But never fear, she finds a long forgotten (literally) memory to help her find her way. Maybe this is the start to rekindle old flames...or maybe not.
Cadogan - Is testing the theory, that if first you don't succeed? Try and try again. Maybe eventually he'll give up smoking, but no one seems to be holding their breath. At least, we hold not. Passing out is ill advised.
Pete - Takes his new job quite seriously. That is to say- no, you really cannot see the King unless you're written in the book. No appointment? Sorry, you'll have to come back later. Don't make him repeat that, now. He does rather mean it.
Sandy - Is discovering body art is very much her style. Sporting a new piercing, she's happy to stop and chat about the new found interest in body art, or...probably just art in general.

5th - 11th

Amy - Isn't content to sit back and be a Two for any longer than she has to be. With her eyes set to the future, she's aiming for the Biggest Three she can think of to take down. And getting a lot of extra training in to boot.
Sophie - Is discovering that there really is no 22-Step program for lingerie. And really- why should there be? Every girl has a right to fell sexy- so go on Red, live it out loud. And enjoy every minute of that silky, sexy pleasure.
Rachel - Has just another day in the office, working over who represent the Diamonds to the other suits, and other such important things. Least of which are little gifts to act as a pick-me-up.
Silas - Whistles while he works. Or at least he does on his Birthday. Or at least he would have if people hadn't kept getting in the way. Come on, oh Kingly one, only David gets away with working his birthday.
Teddy - Trying to put Edgar Allen Poe to shame...and not excelling thus far. But he's young, and surly that has to count for something, right? Miles to go, and all that fun stuff.
Jordan - Sometimes just wants a stiff drink and very few words. But when the second isn't an option, you can talk as long as you drink. Seems to be a fairly even trade, don't you think?
Hadyn - Returns to the Deck after his stay in Switzerland. It is a quiet affair, but one full of new information, and the beginning of a troubling plan. He isn't sure if Mother dearest will be proud...or murder him in his sleep. *Plot Related Thread*
Elisha - Is taking part in that time honored tradition- the Walk of Shame. Only there isn't much shame to this King's strut. In fact, he doesn't seem to care who sees and who knows where he's just come from.
Leigh - Knows that with age comes beauty and grace... but there also comes height. And eventually we all grow out of those clothes and are faced with the daunting task of buying new ones. And only girls who lie say that isn't a little bit fun.
Urania - Reminds us all why being pregnant is not the least bit fun. Even less so when it is with Triplets. And as the months count down, the Lower numbers just hope they can survive to the end of her term- or at least until this tiny terror is on bed rest.
Laureline - Always seems to be thinking. And most of that is about how to advance her family to old glories, even if in a different Suit. But this time, her thoughts seem to turn toward finding new ways to make Elisha regret ever convincing Hadyn to fall for him.
Katya - Has a problem. All these people that work for her, and yet they all seem to avoid her when they know there is work she's dying to pass off on them. Come now Spades, surely you wouldn't want to make your Queen cry, would you?
Avery - Has an idea for the Ambassador offices, but it involves a bit of- how shall we say....rearranging? A pity Silas isn't very keen on it. And more pity that he uses that tone. We all know how much Avery loves to hear that tone from, well, anyone.
Judith - Was out of her office for once, at least until Jordan wrecked that plan. But Dearest Queen of Hearts- He knows something you dearly want to hear about. Your Beloved Husband isn't dying of Cancer...but he will die, if something isn't done. Fast. *Plot Related Thread.*
Säde - Finds that sometimes the hardest thing is hearing a bit of truth- and considering that possibly you were in the wrong. Even if it is only considered...briefly. For a time.
Julien - Doesn't shirk his duties, but he always finds a bit of time to work out and refine well honed skills. A blade, after all, doesn't stay sharp on it's own. But he also seems to find time to speak with people from the past- which can only end one of two ways. Very badly, or very curiously.
Aoife - Doesn't think the Brits are the only ones with something to celebrate. Even the Irish have a few medals to write home about. To so show a bit of Irish pride, she makes a colorful banner of flowers- just in case people missed those Olympic medals and all.
Pete - Believes that even PA's need to find time to relax. And in pleasant company. It wouldn't do to tell your King to take a break, after all, if you can't learn to take one yourself.
Ceiro - Discovers that even Good Kings sometimes fall. The truth about his illness comes to light, thanks to Jordan, but that only leaves a hundred questions in its wake. But despite the pressing, urgent need- there seems to be some few details that need a bit of wrapping up. Like a few well meaning farewells. *Plot Related Thread*
Elisha - Knows a king's job is never done. And now is am envoy's. Margo has something to report about the Arcana, but he isn't sure what...or where she ran into them.

12th - 18th

Sophie - Has thrown the gauntlet, so to speak. She's challenged a sister for the Rank she lost to her years before. Watch out girls, she's moving on up and who knows where she'll stop this time.
Davin - Knows that a good business man is easy to find. That's why he keeps office hours, so he'll be around when you have those odd ball request to ask of him. Go on- He's probably heard them all before.
Zoe - Has a theory that the best spies look like the belong right were they all. And girl like her? Definitely belongs in this shop, running her fingers ever do lovingly over those shoes.
Lexa - Knows that Art is the purest form of expression. But sometimes it gets a bit muddled up in the creative process. But don't worry- she has an idea. She thinks. She's pretty sure anyway.
Jordan - Really does know that waiting a week before a performance is a bad time to remember he still needs a song. Still, he is a man of his word. Thus he faces off with Heartsong for some sheet music...a little Heart to Heart with his Brother. *Plot Related Thread*
Karin - Is of the belief that anything edible can be fried. And she's probably right. Though we would like to say that just because it can be...doesn't mean it should be. We have our weight to think about.
Avery - Knows that some battles are not worth causing the greatest fuss about. Even if she'd really like to. So she'll sing, and let a few of those frustrations die down with her emotional release.
Elisha - Understands that kings play chess for many reasons. Some do it to become better generals. Some, however, just do it to relax. Which is what he subscribes to. A shame his boyfriend has to come ruin it with some heavy news. *Plot Related Thread*
Sandy - knows that Cinderella couldn't go to the ball without a dress. Well...neither can she. And there is no time for a fitting like the present, is there?
Ѧ Strength - Has a few questions to ask, but the real question is...why is she asking. The Arcana want to bring the Deck back to the fold, supposedly. Are they trying to win you over by kindness...or trick you into something without your knowing?
Silas - Silas has a question for Tally that she might not have been expecting. It goes along the lines of this- Please, oh for the love of god, please be my Jack.
Monty - Is old enough to know better, but he still can't help but ask. Why, oh for the love of god, why are women so damn confusing. The truth is, Monty, women aren't confusing. Men just haven't figured out the right answers yet.
Meghana - Knows the benefit of getting out of the office and out of the house. It helps that her pup just happens to like walks too. And really, what better way to clear the mind?
Tally - Decides to take a hen night, to adjust to her new position as Jack of Diamonds. And can anyone really blame her? The running gossip of a Curse on Jacks hasn't exactly faded, now has it?
Hadyn - Performs his Challenge for Nine performance and stunned the audience into a bit of a silence. But then again, ripping into ones mother in public has a way of doing that. And while it might be all part of the plan, don't be surprised in the Newest Nine of Hearts doesn't seem too overly excited about his congratulations.*Plot Related Thread*
Tegan - Is trying to learn a new trade, it seems. But then, perhaps that is what keeps this Jack safely in place, all these new attempts to broaden her horizons and what have you.
Amy - Often has restless nights often result in wandering about in the dark. Sadly she doesn't often run right into branches...or be cut to tears with words from a fellow Spade. Buck up Ames, it can only get better from this point on.
Margo - Enjoys swimming in the mornings, even when she knows there will be a lot of work later on. But at the end of the day, she knows how to dress up all pretty. Every girl does.
Chives - Just wants you to sit up a little straighter. Or any number of other things. What does it take to get you just to respect this Butler a little more? He isn't asking that much out of you.
Jordan - Is facing the music when it comes to his mother. All in the name of 'right' and 'good', his and Hadyn's plan is coming to the wire. The only question that remains is...will it do anyone any good, in time. *Plot Related Thread*
Rowan - Is taking a break from her day job. And there is no denying that Event Planning can be a demanding job on the Deck. What with all the Events that seem to go on- even the major Cities of the World would be put to shame by the Deck.
Vasiliy - Discovers the woes of Translation. If he isn't having fun yet, we can suggest a few games to play with this- how badly will "I hate my job" be mangled after 40 translations...Hm. We wonder.
19th - 25th

Iggy - Thinks a book will save him from work. What he doesn't know is that looking smart just means someone will eventually come up with something more important for him to do. Or worse- give him random jobs just because he has time to read. On the Green.
Briony - Is shopping, for food. And doesn't that just make you feel all satisfied inside? No? Well, have some fresh basil and perhaps it will change your mind.
Club Revue - Event! The Club Revue is an annual event were many members of the Deck come and display their talents. This years Theme is A Midsummer's Night's Dream.
Tally - Takes her oath as Jack of Diamonds, and lets the pressure of the station settle around her. All we can officially say at this point? Good Luck and Good Night.
Judith - Is trying to find the source of her husbands poisoning, and regretting how much this situation is pulling her away from the people that matter most to her. But sometimes a Queen as to do what a Queen has to do. *Plot Related Thread*
Zoe - Under orders from the Queen, Zoe is off to Arcana to deliver a formal invitation to the Spade Ball at the end of the week. Because backup is never not a bad idea when it comes to the Deck visitors, she's brought Sophie with. Wise decision, girls, especially when the Devil opens the door.
Evan - Inflation is a bitch. Either that or Evan McCartney is more than willing to milk these kisses for all they're worth; either way, some people think it's a little expensive, Evan. But not to worry, King Elisha is more than happy to pay up if it means he can troll his Suit even more than usual.
Ѧ Silke - A petting zoo. Seriously. It's anyone's guess how they pulled this off (though this author would suspect the Magician's hand in it), but that doesn't stop Zoe from settling in to pet a slightly more domesticated Fox than usual. Edith-Felicie, on the other hand? Highly suspicious of that bunny. Highly. *Plot Related Thread?*
Katya - Unlike Mr. McCartney of the Clubs, Queen Katya is more than willing to be flexible. If you want a kiss, pay up for the kiss. But if you want to dunk the Queen of Spades, that's on the menu too. Briony wants to know what the going price is for both. Säde is just getting herself talked into getting up into the dunking booth herself. Think of it as a training exercise, Lady Ace.
Rachel - It's the Queen of Diamonds' birthday, and she's out of her office with some heavy thoughts to keep her company. After a few conversations with close friends, has Queen Rachel come to a decision that will rock her Suit? *Plot Related Thread*
Teddy - DJ Shuffle is on the air and he has a bone to pick with every single Jack in the Deck...sort of. He has a bone to pick with how they've all become Jack, at least, since they're supposed to challenge. But does he have an solution for what should be done if there's no Jack to challenge? Come on, Shuffle, tell us all about it.
Abby - The best part about any carnival, in Abby's opinion? Definitely the fried food. And right now, she's on a mission to convince the entire Deck that fried dill pickles are where it's at. She is fearless, completely fearless, in the face of your skepticism, too.
Silas - According to the King of Diamonds, you're mumbling. Or maybe you're not mumbling. Maybe he just can't possibly believe he would ever do anything that could possibly mess up his suit. Or his hair. Or, god forbid, get him wet.
Sebastian - Sebastian Ambrosi is a man with a plan. Specifically, this plan involves inducing members of the Deck to eat their weight in fried food for...glory? The honor of being extremely sick? We're not clear on that part yet.
Elani - You know who else is working the kissing booth at the festival? That's right, both McCartneys. Both of them. At the same time. Can the power of their smiles be harnessed as an energy source? We doubt that's why there's a line of gentlemen half a mile long.
Ceiro - It was a plan years in the making, and nearly perfect in its execution, but Laureline Novak failed to take in account two things: her sons. And now that they've turned on her, given Ceiro evidence that she not only poisoned him but killed her own husband over a decade before, Laureline has been banished from the Deck. But was Ceiro too merciful? Some in the audience think he may have been. *Plot Related Thread*
Danielle - Danielle Tung is a victim. A victim of Puppy Dog Eyes (god help us all) from her fifteen year old nieces, Sun and Yue. And she didn't warn Avery about the Puppy Dog Eyes, either, which means not only is Danielle getting dunked, but a Ten of Diamonds with crack aim is doing it. Frederick doesn't seem to have the excuse of having been manipulated by teenaged girls.
Säde - It looks like Katya did it, and the Ace of Diamonds is sitting in the dunking booth, stony expression, sparkly bikini. There's a line, Säde, and Julien's at the head of it. As for the Diamonds? Well, if they want to take aim, they'd best not miss, or they have a wakeup call with a drill sergeant Ace to deal with. Subpar dunking is not to be tolerated.
Ɉ Noel - It's not all kisses and dunkings at the Harvest Festival Carnival. Of course it's not. Noel is there too, in her own booth. And what's she doing? Card tricks, of course. Did you expect something else?
Katya - And festival week ends, as any good Deck event should, with an elegant ball. It's the Spades' turn to host, and no masks are donned this time around. Instead, the Deck celebrates the end of a hectic summer with gleaming fairy lights, lovely music, and gorgeous dresses. It's not quite midsummer anymore, but Katya has made certain her outdoor ball at Spade Castle makes everyone feel like it could be.

26th - 31st

Tobias - Is looking for something to help him forget? We aren't sure- but we do know that Hades isn't a fan of sharing, so we advise caution in he tries to sneak in to borrow some water of the Lethe.
Jordan - Isn't having a good time. What's wrong, pumpkin? Finding out you don't like the taste of betrayal after all? We'd feel sympathy for you, but...well...you reap what you sow. Try not to think about it too much, lovey.
Riley - Is getting in a work out, jogging through the Heart grounds. Too bad she's so focused on clearing her mind that she forgets to look where she is going. Oops! You didn't need that toe did you?
Avery - Is baking up a storm. Which is her secret plan to ascend back into the ranks of Face Cards. Didn't anyone ever tell Miss Avery that you can't really bake your way to heaven?
Hadyn - Is trying to make amends with his Uncle. What a shame no one told him that if he just played nice, it wouldn't be so awkward. Don't worry, Boo, you still have a King that will coddle you. For now.
Victor - Knows the best place to hide is in the least likely of places. In his case? It is in the bustling kitchens, working on a cup of tea quietly.
Morgan - Is out exploring the grounds, looking for trouble and all that it entails. What she finds in a wayward Club. Mm. Is that the smell of a budding romance in the air...or her purfume?
David - Knows that a good King is a Trolling King as well. He isn't really hard of hearing, he just wants to hear you ask that question- twice. Maybe you should explain that yet again, and why on Earth do you think those books are being stolen. Clearly they walked into those rooms by themselves.
Sandy - is singing "I scream, you scream- we all scream for Ice cream." And as summer starts to wind down, nothing says goodbye quite like good, old fashioned, homemade ice cream.
Rachel - has come to some quite terms with her final days as Queen. And as they say- all good things come to an end, and not all are tragic. Tomorrow is a new day, and all those hopeful dreams. So farewell, your highness- it is time to ring in a new Era.
