Community Garden on the Green!

In Briony's last post, she and Cooper came up with the idea of a community garden to be put on the Green where the fallen trees are from Gustave's magic - sort of a way of taking what's been destroyed and making it into something the entire Deck can participate in.

I think it'd be a fun, light thing for people to participate in, and I can think of some Cards who'd probably be interested - but I'm wondering if people would like to volunteer their people to be people that Cooper and Briony talk to about it? I'd also love garden ideas! I vaguely have some idea of flowers around the perimeter and fruits and vegetables towards the center, but I haven't gardened since college, so anyone with more experience and ideas should throw them at us.

Sounds like a lovely plan. Dybbuk lives close to the Green so, if he has to see the garden everyday, he will have to give his input.

NPCly, Orla would be around because she likes live plants even more than she does cut flowers.

That would be fantastic, actually, especially with his knowledge of architecture - designing a garden has some similarities, after all.

I was hopping Aoife and Orla would be involved. I imagine Briony or Cooper would definitely go to the shop for advice on the floral segment.

He will have to let the gardeners and landscapers do their bit. I think he is old enough to know when to hold his tongue and let other people in. The circus is a collaborative effort after all.

Aoife will also be involved, perhaps not in the planning of the garden but in the small details.

What are Fours for but to help with menial tasks? Just kidding, planting would suit her just fine. It'll give her an excuse not to feel self conscious over getting her hands dirty.

Bonfire?

Hush. Pretend this is the other account. The project could be an ongoing one and something characters could post about on occasion. There'll still be plenty of room for wandering around and grass and such.

But that makes me wonder. Myriad's Mel did the bonfire last year. Should it be a Deck rather than a Diamond event? And if so, should it be held on the green?

I do visualize it as something fairly small, yes. Larger than a house garden, certainly, but nothing that would take away from the other uses. And it should really end up as something people can do things with - people can post working in or enjoying the garden, picking vegetables, etc.

I think it's traditionally a Diamond event, but possibly the wake of the Arcana could be the impetus to move it to the Green?

Oh, I know. I only suggested it become a Deck event because that would give them 2 events (Bonfire and Winter Festival) so close together. But that's up to Kels and Yin and the rest of the Diamond players. XD

Might be worth it, really. The Feast of Fools will be around Christmas - and I think Myriad never really played Mel as a Diamond anyway? She was completely removed from court life.
