I got to thinking about this tonight when I realized that Zoë, as a Seven, probably has a job and I didn't really have any idea what that was (it's investment and disbursement management in the Heart finance office now, with her working in the same department as an analyst as a Four through Six. FEAR FOR THE WINE BUDGET CEIRO No, of course she'd never dream of being vindictive.) Elisha is, obviously, in charge of espionage and intelligence for the Clubs. Ben is the Diamond Castle handyman, and Urania, on top of being professionally delusional, is an astronomer and cartographer.

I know for some of the Cards, it's explicitly stated: Mel is in charge of the communal stables, Itchy is the Deck doctor, but for those who aren't Face Cards or Aces, what do you see your Cards doing in the Deck? Professional badass is an acceptable answer.

Dafydd is at present a cog, or possibly a spring, in Elisha's espionage and intelligence machine, but his day job when he was a lower Number was working in the Clubs' armory, keeping swords sharp and properly balanced and looking after the historical armors that never get used anymore. He's too busy for it now, but he tries to stop in every so often to make sure his replacements are doing it right.

Maggie...She's semi-retired. I imagine she's sent outside a lot to do things for the Hearts. Unofficially? She's never stopped being a spook. No idea if any other Heart does that, so if they do, she does it on her own. Someone needs to look after the poor dears.

I've... Kinda always wondered what those librarians do. I'm still waffling on life after uni and all that.

It ends up being research, mostly, although larger corporations will have libraries, sometimes big ones. I don't, so I manage electronic resources, do a lot of secondary research for projects, and train non-librarians on how to use databases.

You actually end up doing a little of everything an entire team of uni librarians do, but on a smaller scale.
