Hello everyone!
Hi! I'm Melly. I’m a new player here. I hope we get along; it’s a pleasure to meet you all.
This is my character, Andrea Cruz-Well. She's a Four of Spades and is someone who will be returning to the Deck after have been away for six years. Her family is an influential and wealthy family who has been part of the Spades for a long, long time but the Cruz have been awfully quiet in the Castle ever since Andrea brought ‘dishonor’ to them.Too long backstory time.
Being the only child of a couple who could only reach a Six and Seven, Andrea had a lot of pressure on her to do well to keep their appearances up. She entered the Deck when she had just turned eighteen years old, after spending her childhood and early adult life studying and training to be a successful Spade. She rose to the position of Six, from her original position of Two, by the age of twenty and some people thought she had what it took to be a Ten if she kept this strive up.
But then she fell in love. She met her future husband, Jameson Well, one day when attending an Out-of-Deck event after she became a Six. Andrea and James fell in love and Andrea found herself torn between her loyalties to the Spades, who were essentially her family, and her lover. Her parents were simply furious over her no longer focusing on her career in the Deck and instead focusing on this random man she had met. They made their feelings known and Andrea made hers known too.
Their fights over this subject were no secrets to the other Cards back then.
After months of squabbling and bickering, Andrea then abandoned the Deck and those she knew when her parents made her choose either them or Jameson. She chose James. Just like that, and she said goodbye to the few friends she made there before walking out of the Spade Castle and the life of the Deck seemingly for good.
She and James would get married soon after but this time will was only a brief, two-year period of joy for Andrea. James was later murdered on Christmas day, the day after her birthday, and she’s been obsessed with finding his killer. James had no enemies and she had far too many. She’s traveled all over the world and looked for clues or signs or anything but she’s found nothing so far. Andrea admits there is only one place left to look: The Deck, where she made enemies and allies.
So she returns to it to see if she can get the answers that have been eluding her since that snowy evening six years ago. Andrea is not expecting to be welcomed with open arms by others or at all.
Andrea is a Spade through and through. Calculating, intelligent and always has a goal in her mind. She was considerably nicer before when she was in the Deck from those who knew her. She certainly smiled a lot more, but she's aloof and cold now to keep herself from getting hurt or being manipulated.
She's fiercely loyal to any ally or friend she makes. Partly because it'll be a hassle to make new connections and partly because she's lonely after all this time and does enjoy their presence.
Basically, she came in the Deck but she chose her lover who was murdered and now she wants revenge on whoever did it. If you’ll like to have pre-existing history with her over anything, like them being friends/enemies/etc, just comment here.
