That is...I realized something tonight as I was staring at my screen trying to make up the April 15 edition of the Trump...

...I really had no idea what to put in this time.

Or basically, it would really help to have input from you guys. I've had one submission for this edition but otherwise...I'm just guessing as to what else ought to go in, as far as the news articles, gossip column, and classifieds go. Maybe you've seen something you think ought to be included, maybe you've got a character that would like to advertise something...I don't know! But I'd like to.

So this edition is going to be a bit delayed until...say...Wednesday, to give you all time to get in your submissions...just consider this a little reminder (and in the future, I plan on making a post similar to this one a few days before the official edition date).

And of course, if you've got suggestions for different columns or better explanations or...anything...feel free to send those in too. I want this to be a resource that helps the players, after all...but I can't do that without you. :)

So this is just a note....there will be an edition of the Deck newsletter this weekend. So far, no one has sent me anything they'd like to see included in there. This can be:

• Links to threads that are "newsworthy"
  
• Links to threads that are "gossip worthy"
  
• Classified ads for their characters to post
  
  • personals
    
  • job openings
    
  • wanted ads
    
  • items for sale
    
  • ...you get the idea
  
  
• Any upcoming events you all know about
  
• ....anything else you think might be "newsworthy" to make sure folks find out about

Some of you might have noticed pingback bot comments on some of your posts.

That's because...

...Feast your eyes on the first edition of the DECK NEWSPAPER! (no really, go check it out)

Currently it contains links to threads considered "newsworthy" that might be of interest to various members of the Deck, a list of known upcoming challenges (with links to threads where the challenge was requested of a given monarch), a list of dates for upcoming big events (if we know about them), a "gossip" section (also with links to threads) though everything in this section may need to be taken with a grain of salt, and a "classified ads" section (for everything from help wanted to "I want to sell this" or "I want to buy this" or even personals type ads.)

A few caveats:

• We might miss something you think should be in there (in any of the sections). In that case? PM this account (or the mods) and let the paper editors know you've got something for an upcoming edition to ensure it makes it in! No, really, PLEASE submit suggestions for this as otherwise digging through past posts and trying to determine what goes where is a rather tedious sort of job.
  
  
• This newspaper should be considered META. It's written as if the characters are reading it but it may suggest or link to things that are not technically IC knowledge (for example, the link in the gossip section about Eli's drug issue). Basically, we want to try to link to things and summarize what's been going on lately to make it easier for players to find plotty things. The Classifieds and Challenges section can be considered pretty IC though and can be used as jumping-off suggestions for character interaction. Other sections...unless the player of the character being discussed says it's okay, please don't just assume your character automatically knows about whatever it is.
  
  
• The newspaper is currently bi-weekly. (so the next edition will come out on the 1st of April) Depending on editor time, player feedback, and how many submissions we get in the future, etc, it may end up happening more or less frequently.
  
  
• We'd also like to include a monthly section (so it only happens in the edition occurring directly following the applications period closing) listing all the new characters and a short bit of info about them so folk might more easily find the newbies and say hi or have their characters tag them. Does this sound like a section you guys would like to have?
  
  
• And continuing on that player feedback note. Consider this first edition a prototype. We're still working out kinks and glad to take suggestions. Feel free to comment on it here or PM either this account or the mod account. Thanks and enjoy!
