Alright, my lovelies. I have poked at the journal style.

Now, I know it's not as good as the old format, but it does include subject headings, and clickable links, and all of those lovely things.

Drop down menus too. If you want me to change it back, I will, but I think everyone will be happier with this, at least for now.

Sticking to posting and commenting within the HoC comms with make this change the most useful, as sws is still under the new format. It's a bit odd for us, but I think we can make it through this?

Hi everyone! This is Myriad, with Frankie. Her real name is Franciszka Anka Szczpanska, but unless you make her angry she won't make you try and pronounce that. Frankie is the daughter of two Polish emigrants who found the Deck after World War II. She's wanted to be a doctor since just about always and when she was almost eighteen (two months shy) she left the Deck to go to school. Her specialization was pediatrics until she spent a night in a crowded emergency room. She switched to trauma surgeon the next day.

She ended up staying away for the entire tenure of medical school, internship, and residency at New York Presbyterian. She was 30 by the time she got back, still a Two of Clubs, and started the dual process of climbing the ranks and getting used to the Deck again after over ten years of New York.

It took her almost as long to make Ten of Clubs as it had taken to get through undergrad, med school, and residency, but she finally achieved it just before her 40th birthday. Now she takes periodic sabbaticals to keep her hand in and get updated on modern procedure (and to get much-needed doses of the world outside the Deck).

She'd left in February for her most recent period of residency and has just gotten back, and she's really wondering what the hell is happening and if it wouldn't be a better idea to go out again.

And yes, as she's first and foremost a doctor, she'll treat anyone of any injury, no questions asked or answered.

Hello darlings. It's that time of year again, when Muzy departs the mean streets of New York for the frozen hinterlands of the Midwest for Ye Olde Parental Visit. Since this time comes but once a year, I may be expected to actually socialize and not live entirely on my computer.

Although given the amount of Ice Road Truckers watched at home, I imagine there will be a lot of tagging from the couch.

In any case, I will be online in my usual ubiquitous manner today, but after that will likely have the internet usage of a normal person, stretching to the 29th of December. After that, I'll be home again and back to tagging with the speed of someone trying to win an Olympic medal in it.

Assume Elisha is mostly doing what Elisha does, assuming he can sweet-talk his way out of being in trouble with Alexander, Ben is preparing to put on the best performance of Queen that the Deck ever will see, Avery is buried under a pile of festival work, Zoe is...patching Victor back up after certain altercations with certain Aces, and Urania is...doing what Urania does. Which is mapping the sky above the Deck, being adorable with Isaac, and playing with all her favorite sharp pointy objects like a good Spade.

Hello, everyone! I'm Aspen, and I'm finally getting over my stalking ways and joining the fun new here. I bring you Glory Davis, an Eight of Diamonds who was born and raised in the Deck. Her mother and father were both Twos, well-meaning people who were quite content to avoid jockeying for position, but their daughter was something else. In her youth Glory was ambitious, driven, and dedicated, and she climbed steadily from Two to Eight with no indication that she'd stop before getting to the top.

Aaaand then she did stop, for reasons she does not discuss with anyone, and she's remained firmly ensconced as an Eight for decades since. She's 70 now, and shows no signs of slowing down or softening much with age. She's got a sweet nature and will gladly listen to people's troubles and offer them advice, but there's a deep-seated pragmatic streak in her, too, and she's not the type to coddle people.

As for her ambition, well, she still has it -- only she's shifted gears, and instead of climbing herself, she focuses on pulling strings and calling in favors to help other people climb. She has decades of experience in Deck politics and many friends and people who owe her favors, and she'll be glad to put those things to work for people she likes. And, naturally, she'll expect that favor to be repaid someday. Glory may not have made it to the top like she once planned, but she's discovered that having friends in high places can be every bit as satisfying.

Um yes and. Hello, and happy to be here! And, well. From a metagame/ooc perspective, I have obviously NOT been in the Deck from the beginning, sooo anybody who wants to work out past and/or potential connections with Glory and/or catch me up on things that might be useful for she and I to know, I would be deeply grateful!

Thought I should get in my short hiatus while thinking about it. I'll be totally without internet all day Saturday and most of Sunday. I don't expect things to be busy then, but don't think I'm ignoring you if you tag one of my characters.

Till then, I'm still off work and loving being able to thread in something other than 15 minute sprints  3 times a day.
