Maybe this doesn't belong here, I dunno (mods, feel free to bahleet if it doesn't), but I have a VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION.

1 a) What the bloody hell is the primary mode of transportation in the Deck? Walking forever between the castles? JUMPING to visit the Arcana? Teleportation? I don't know.
1 b) And assuming that the answer to the above question isn't one of my proposed answers, how do you imagine your muse getting from Point A to Point B on a semi-regular basis?

2) Is there a list of occupations? Not only what's available, but also what people DO?

Hey this is Emer with my third card!

Meet Noah, the Two of Clubs. Thirteen years ago on the 16th June just as the sun was rising Noah Damien Gray was born into the world to two loving parents. These parents were Damien, a Two of Diamonds and Jessica, a Six of Clubs and they lived together in Town. Damien had always lived in the Town whereas Jessica had lived in Club Castle for most of her life. That is until she fell in love and agreed to move in with Damien in Town. Noah grew up happy and healthy and went to the local school in Town. He had plenty of friends and his parents loved him. They would occasionally be visited by other members of the Deck, extended family who lived in the Castles. However, about five months ago Noah's father Damien decided that he was tired of being stuck as a Two. Those in Town don't care too much about rank and status but his parents had been of a high rank and he wanted to continue the legacy. So, he challenged a Three in a combat based challenge...and lost. During the challenge he was "accidentally" killed. Of course both Noah and Jessica were absolutely devistated. His mother couldn't cope with the loss of her husband and she soon became ill. All the hard work of the best doctors on the Deck...even they couldn't save her. They say she died of a broken heart. And now Noah is left without either parent and he feels so alone even though there are people around him. For a few months he stayed with a friend of his father's until recently when he was adopted by his extended family and he moved from Town to Club Castle. So, that's where he is now, grieving the loss of both his parents and trying to get used to meeting new people and unfamiliar surroundings. He had heard so much about the Castle's he had just never been near them before.

This is Drea (Rachel-mun) bringing in Urania's big sister Calypso, who's 35 and been away from the Deck for seven-ish years. Her full history etc. is here, but the basics are this: Born in the same old Spades family, was taught to be the perfect Spade and was actually pretty devoted to it, getting up to Seven until Victor (yes, that Victor) killed her twin sister, Echo. Her death prompted her to leave the Deck, and she wandered about the world for a few months before ending up in Texas, where she met Galen Montrose, who later became her husband. They married and were very happy together before Galen was killed in action in Afghanistan. That was about eight months ago, and since then she's been trying to deal with some serious depression and figure out her life again.

Now she's coming back. Absence has dropped her back down to a Five. People will also likely find her a little kinder and a lot less ambitious.

Oh. And she's also coming in with three kids: 4-year old Callisto and the bb!twins Lycus and Priam.

The mods kindly gave permission to rewrite Rajat's history a bit. His education and adult history remain the same.

However, Rajat is a returned Deck baby. His father is a 4th generation Club, a horse trainer and riding instructor (6 of Clubs). His mother was a 1st generation Diamond who left the Diamonds to marry his father and works as a tutor (5 of Clubs). They are still alive, though there's tension in the family since he originally had refused to return to the Deck once his education was complete.

Rajat is 32 and left the Deck (save for a few visits in his teen years) when he was 13 or 14. So, does he know some of you? Let's do this.

All right, my darlings. As many of you have noticed (and enjoyed editing with a passion) there is now a HoC wiki. I feel the need to lay down a few ground rules with this, however, before it gets significantly out of hand.

1) Joining the wiki, up keeping characters pages, and generally being informed by it are not requirements. Some are extremely happy to have it, and I say more power to you! Others aren't the biggest fans of the idea, and there is no pressure to use it if you're one of those people like me who are like... incapable of understand the things

2) Since it is editable by everyone, some things that are not necessarily canon may end up on there - such as AU's or possible unapproved history etc. This happens, we understand it, but anything on there that is not also documented somewhere in our growing archive of resources here in the ooc community still isn't accepted as canon. Therefore, be careful how you present things and - if it's something that you believe should be canon - please feel free to message me so I may add it to Fin's Primer, which is almost up and running, at this point.
2a) Family histories that influence The Suit and Deck strongly count as things that need to be passed by us, and are the reason I added a genealogy section to all of the Suits in Fin's Primer

3) Having AU's and AU character information of the wiki is acceptable - please have it clearly marked.

4) The mods reserve the right to delete anything should we find it unacceptable. I tell you this so, in the unlikely event we are forced to do it, there will be no confusion on the point.

Okaaay, sorry. Idk, seeing everything that's happening right now I think it's best what I had in mind doesn't happen so I apologize.

I'm deciding to take another route which is that said Joker will be very hard to find tomorrow. Potentially a number of reasons. Which one is true?! Who knows.

MAKING THIS POST BEFORE I LOSE THE CONNECTION AGAIN.

For some bizarre reason, since last night, LJ has been unavailable to me. I have seen everybody frolicking in my inbox (/sob) so it's clearly an isolated issue. It's not my laptop- everything that uses my home's wifi couldn't access LJ. Right now it seems okay, but there are tons of broken images and I have to refresh a couple of times before getting to the page proper. So, y'know, if I disappear again, that's where I went. Hopefully this is brief.

EDIT: Still ongoing, but at least now I can get through, even if slowly! Disregard.
