Kat's app is on her journal for people who want all the details, but the short version is as follows:

Sophie's youngest sister, Kat Berthier has been a Six of Diamonds since she beat her eldest sister at kickboxing four years ago and knocked her down to Five. Unlike the twins, however, she hasn't advanced since then. This is a bit of a mystery to most people in the Berthier circle, since the younger Berthier girls are known to be ambitious. People who know her well may guess that a lack of confidence (brought on by her treatment by Gerhardt while they were growing up) is at the heart of the issue. Currently, she works in Event Planning in the Diamonds as a special events coordinator - weddings, parties, wakes, balls, dinners, etc. - and is generally known to be fairly sweet and nice, though she has a serious mean girl streak when she needs to get it out. Challenged mostly in the arts, notably with acting performances; does not act professionally, however.

Hey so I heard you liked mudkips I guess.

Freddy clearly knows her. I believe art shows and general fabulousness were discussed. He came to Diamonds when she was 7 and, as far as has been figured thus far, thinks the Berthier girls are all pretty swell and such.

Cadogan would also probably know her, although that is less obvious a how to me. He showed up when she was 18, so... if I am mathing right, he passed her by as a Six briefly. He didn't get close to Sophie until this last year. I... don't know. They probably know each other. That's all. /o\

Sandy: You know, it's make all the sense in the entire wide world that Kat and Sandy know each other from Six parties. Or at the least the heart artist that bops around sometimes at Diamonds.

I think Kat is the only muse here that any of mine are likely to know. Aoife comes to mind, being a Diamond. She may feel inadequate next to the Berthier girls, they have perfected their Diamond masks but Aoife still has a rawness about her. She's probably a little awkward around them. She isn't as good at hiding her failings as Kat is but that may be good for her in the long run. As long as Kat is kind to her, she will respond well. Otherwise she'll bottle up.

Um, Dybbuk will generally be his aloof and strangely endearing self, while Margo may bump into Kat at big events on-Deck.

Who is she, again? XD I think it's safe to say Kat knows Sophie. I don't know how much of the voice testing is canon? I'm fine either way, just let me know.

Kat probably is aware of Katya (since she's a Royal) but probably doesn't know her? Monty she probably doesn't know. I'm pretty sure they took horseback riding lessons from Master Kumar. Cooper she should probably know since they work in similar fields. He's also a sculpture, though a lot of people don't know that. That's all I got right now.

For anyone who is new, or has never ever run into Blythe before:

Came to the Deck soon after she turned nineteen, hit Ten at twenty-two. Warm and loving, easily flusterable, loves making friends, determined to make the most of any situation.

I know I've told a couple people this, but as a general warning(?!) of sorts, her initial acceptance of the position is going to come with a lot of angst and not a lot of happiness. But she'll get over it in a week and then she will be a really awesome Ace, hopefully. :)

Clive is that guy that everyone loves; somehow, someway. Or if they don't love him, maybe a part of them just wants to be him. He has a great attitude, generally upbeat (some might even say he is a bit Heart-ish). He got to where he was with non-violent challenges, and is a great talker. On a completely non-personal level.

He can't, however, flirt to save his life. He fumbles that ball every time because he tries too hard, and thinks a bit too much.

Other than his cousin Jordan nobody, I'm guessing he has at least a a passing acquaintance with Zoe, since she's been in the Spades for eight months and is Hadyn's BFF. And likewise knows Elisha as King of Clubs and Fellow Attendee of Bernard Family Dinners. Might know Avery? Probably knows Briony in some way.

HI!

My name is Ky, I was introduced to HoC by Kelz, and I'm so psyched to be here.
I was literally counting the days before I got approved :P

I'm totally new, and I'm bringing with me Yeo In-Su. He's a Korean who came to America for art school. His parents died while he was there, and he became a homeless meth addict as a result. He's shy, a closetted gay, artistic, 24, and desperately in need of some life in order business.

He's an atypical spade/decker, and hopefully gonna be able to take up the apprentice tattooist position. As well as spend time in Frederick's studio.

I'm uber excited to RP with all of you, and I know some of your characters due to some SWS nonsense.

Hopefully more apps to come, as I mature into the game.
I'm still a little confused about the mechanics of the deck, but I'm an experienced RPer otherwise, and hope to get into plenty of threads with you guys.

HI~! It's lovely to meet you, and welcome to the Game~! I'm Violet, and here are all my characters. There are too many. :|

Adrien Fitzgerald (black0and0white) is a Six of Diamonds. Flashy, flamboyant, he's the Head Historian in the Suit with a love of fashion. He also has a seven-year-old adopted daughter named Sitara (petitechoti) who is an NPC in the game, but who basically accompanies him everywhere.

Blythe Merrick (somuchheart) is the newly-made Ace of Hearts. She's uber kind, easily flusterable, very young for her position, and really, really short. She loves talking to new people (as Head of HR in the Suit), making friends, and is pretty terrific at gymnastics.

Piper (eucre) is one of the Jokers in the Deck. She's generally ridiculous, loves playing her pipes, and stealing food from the kitchens. :3 She's pretty difficult to understand at times, but she's cute, so. XD

Lexa Castillo (theloudestroar) is one of the teenagers in the game. She's a Two of Clubs and an artist - that is, she's awesome at spray--painting. She's also good at playing guitar, and loves explosions of any kind. Generally prickly, nosy, and loyal when you get to know her.

Riley James (standlikestone) is my other teenager. XD A Four of Hearts, she's the sports instructor for the younger kids at a school in the Deck. She loves basketball, has hemophobia, generally doesn't have a very strong stomach, and loves flirting.

Sebastian Ambrosi (cauldronsbubble) is my final card. A Ten of Clubs, he's the Head of Catering in the Suit. Though he loves food, he's terrible at cooking. Awesome at planning, very disorganized and sloppy, and adores Disney movies.

As for the characters who'd interact with yours, you may see I have no Spades. XD But I imagine Lexa would play well with him, with the artist thing. They could inspire each other~ :D But besides that, I guess we'll have to see what happens in play!

Fletcher Pelham, two of hearts

Hi everyone! I'm Abby, and completely new to this game. I found you guys by consistently lurking through people's profiles on SWS...so thanks to those of you who post there. This game looks like a lot of fun. Also, I'm kind of a dork, and I haven't done a big game on livejournal in awhile, so if I screw something up, please let me know, and I will try my best to fix it. :| I've been surviving on PSLs for way too long, haha.

ANYWAY: Fletcher's new to the deck and as such is at the very bottom of the totem pole. He's a musician (specifically: the violin), kind of an airhead, very social, very promiscuous (as evidenced by my username, which I was a little bit too proud of), and doesn't care too much about hierarchy and all that, at least not for right now. Anyway...hi?

Anyway, he's a bit prickly, does expect hierarchy to followed, and doesn't particularly care for Hearts. Sorry, Fletcher.

Pete (maystillcrow) is Elisha's, the King of Clubs, personal assistant. He's still pretty new for me so I don't have a lot to say about him yet. He's also a freelance part time writer for the Daily Trump, the Deck newspaper.

Johnny (fiddlerjohnny) is a Four of Hearts and also a violin player. He was originally inspired by The Devil Went Down to Georgia so yeah...there's that. Unfortunately, after sassing the Devil, he lost all memory of his life before that and stumbled into the Deck. (no worries, not actually bringing the Devil into the game) He's slowly regaining memories, and that's being helped along since his long-lost girlfriend showed up. ;)

Elani (elani_songbird) is an Eight of Clubs and a music teacher in the Castle. She loves song and dance and will probably think Fletcher is just lovely. Fair warning, if you break her heart, she has a lot of men in her life who'll likely break your kneecaps, Fletcher. ;)

And Davin (so_complicit) is an Eight of Spades who basically Procures difficult-to-find things from off-Deck. Strange antiques, rare wines? Millions of strands of fairy lights? He's your guy.

I'm Song, and I'm bringing in Jubilee here. Jubilee's app is up at her journal for all to read. She's a retread and actually my first character here at HoC. She became difficult to play (I won't be attempting to rhyme so much as I once did) around the time work became idiotic for me, so she went away.

Jubilee adores games and wordplay, riddles and rhymes and quoting from works most people have never read. She eats Secrets to stay alive, never forgets anything--like an ephalump!--and is prone to holding up "mirrors" to people so they can understand things. She's part innocent/part earth mother, happy and friendly and tends to spend a lot of time climbing trees, laying in the grass communing with ladybugs and searching for the where Wild Things Are.

Ask, and she just might tell you a story.

Iiiiiit's Muzy again with what should be my last character for a good long while, Alasdair DeWitt.

Alasdair is an English teacher in the school in Town, though he himself lives at Heart Castle. The eldest of four, Alasdair is the dreamer in the DeWitt family, and fancies himself the next F. Scott Fitzgerald or Ernest Hemingway - but in reality, he's more of an Ed McBain, writing Deck-based mystery novels under the pseudonym Jamie MacDougall. No one knows this, and he is still known to be the Consistently Rejected Aspiring Writer.

Ah, the prodigal daughter. Isadore was once an Eight of Spades, and now she's happy to be a Two of Clubs. How that happened is complicated, and it's well known that David dismissed her from the Spades on the grounds of treason.

Of course, if she really was a danger to the Suit, he'd have had her killed. So there's more to the story than that.

In any case, Isadore's returning after a several-months leave of absence. Please note that if your Card was close to Isadore before she left (Andrea, Annie, Tegan, etc), they've been getting regular phone calls, but did not get warning that she was coming home yet.

Isadore will be working in the Clubs armory as Custodian of Arms.

Cooper Elliot | 8 of Hearts

Cooper's a retread. I'd like to keep any CR he had. He's had a change of surname and aged up to 36 (I wanted him to have 10 years as a blueie). Other than that, he's the same.

It's all in his bio on his journal. Basically, his mother was a Spade who fled Medea's court and later met his father, a new Club from Australia. They had 3 kids: Riley, Cooper and Jack. Jack died when Cooper was 17 (a freak practice accident). Cooper decided to leave the Deck and returned to Brisbane and lived with his paternal grandparents. Later he joined the police force, became a Detective Sgt. and then Detective Inspector (first Narcotics and then Homicide). His father's heart attack scare had him returning to the Deck and deciding to give it another go. He's still giving it a go after 8 years.

He became a Heart to escape the oftentimes volatile relationship with Ross Elliot and so he could have some privacy. He's always maintained his early interests in cooking and sculpting. Currently, he runs the Heart kitchens and is their executive chef.
