House of Cards OOC

I see lots of messages in my inbox and haven't read them all yet but, if this post doesn't cover everything, I will get to each of them. Thank you all for being so open to discussion. In summary, I won't withdraw my app for Queen of Clubs. I just didn't want to discourage anyone with an existing character from apping as I think it's nice if a card has some on-Deck history before becoming a Face. Whatever happens, I've set myself a limit of 3 cards in the game at a time so I don't get ahead of myself (now that I've put it in writing, I've committed myself to it). I have not had any problems with the game and have no great aspirations as far as rank is concerned. I just like doing a little to help fill in gaps and make things flow at a *cough* steady pace.

I'm sure that this comes as a surprise to absolutely no-one but it's still good to make these things official.

Because of life, slight loss of voice and the fact that Gabe is about to lose his whole reason for being in the deck in the first place I'm going to bow out from this game. Gabe is going to keep chasing that dream of his that made him return to the Deck, and since it's leaving so is he. 

I love all of you, I am deeply sorry for being such a flake and for my incredible slowness everywhere, it just wasn't clicking for me this time I guess. I thank you all for your patience and the fact that you played with me.

So, this... was bound to happen sooner or later. To keep it short and to the point: I am leaving the game.

Which feels odd to do, since I founded it and it feels so very weird to drop out of your own game that now no longer is your game -- you know what I mean.
It's been a year and five months (and five days) since the founding, and it's been an amazing time. I got to meet so many new, amazing RPers, I made friends with many of you, I had so much fun and it's been a fantastic experience from the beginning up until now.

But recently, it has become clear that my interest has been far from what it used to be. Far from what it's supposed to be, since as a mod, I ought to be more invested than the majority of players, and not less. And altogether, that's not the kind of attitude that makes a good mod in any way.

Athena, who was my first and now's my last character in the game, will be leaving the Deck due to getting treatment for an illness. She'll keep contact with David, of course, as well as any of your characters who've been friends with her.

I hope this game lives on, I hope it remains fun for you all, and I genuinely hope to cross RP-paths with some of you again eventually.
