So I got myself another Club.

Meet Catherine Munwane, old Deck blood, in charge of the Clubs' PR since 2008, and Queen of Clubs to be. The Munwanes are best known for producing diplomats and counsellors, working in the background rather than being at the centre of attention. The biggest splash Catherine has made was when she opposed King Alexander and the plans he had for the Clubs' future.

While her official title is Head of PR, Catherine is de facto a Fixer. Well-connected through her own efforts and the Munwanes Outside, she's particularly skilled at making trouble go away quickly and quietly, and that service wouldn't be Clubs exclusive. So there's potential for backstory here if your character has dirty little secrets they want buried forever. Other relationships - established and future ones - are most welcome

Pierre is his normal self. Except that he's a Nine of Spades now. That's a thing. Don't believe me? It says so in the journal. He was a Seven of Spades when I dropped -- that was also a thing.

So as you all might have noticed, there've been rumblings here and there about various factions of Deckians (I just made that word up) who don't particularly approve of so many Outsiders in positions of authority in the Deck. Not just the ones who are Faces, but in some cases any Outsiders who aren't 'in their place' performing menial jobs, for instance. Steadily, the tension is growing. Particularly since the last couple of years have been something of a roller-coaster with little chance for proper resolution (the murder of Andrew didn't entirely settle well with a lot of people, the Arcana came from Outside the Deck [so to speak] and jacked things up, the Deck starts doing the shimmy every night, more people disappear and are never heard from again, etc) and many people see these as a sign of the failure of those in charge to lead the Deck as it ought to be led. Because they aren't true Cards.

So basically, we figure there's a recipe in here of tension and a bunch of people with well-honed violent tendencies just waiting for the right impetus to set off a conflict. Probably in the next couple of days you will see a post go up regarding vandalism in Town that leads to businesses getting trashed and things getting stolen which sets off a chain reaction. Soon there will be Cards demanding answers, protests, graffiti, duels in the streets, et cetera et cetera. Lines drawn between those who think the Outsiders should be ousted, those who think the Old Blood are being ridiculously bigoted. Those who just wish things could go back to normal. You get the idea.

But a lot of it will be up to you. We want you guys to play with this too as this isn't going to go away overnight. So if you think you've got a character who might end up coming down on the "actually maybe we should put some proper Cards in charge to fix things" side or characters that want to preserve the current way of things, please feel free to volunteer. You can also volunteer up your characters' businesses, homes, or offices (or whatever) for vandalism/theft/whatever floats your boat. And of course the requisite payback.

And if you've got general suggests or other ideas, please toss those in too.

Hiii, Ana here. Figured I'd try my hand at a King of Diamonds. This here is Vincent, he's originally from the Diamond outpost, moved into the Castle after he finished getting a couple of degrees Outside. Anyway, I suppose Säde is on the verge of choosing him King. o/

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, Enemies, Other?

This is Andrew John Sorensen, a Five of Hearts who would really prefer you call him Drew because a) he likes to avoid comparisons to dead Kings and b) he would really prefer you call him Drew.

Drew is twenty-five years old, and a Five of Hearts who has been in the Deck a little over five years. The details are in his journal, but it's safe to say that most people don't know those details, or much about him other than he's charming, flirtatious, possibly slightly lacking in moral fiber and a little feckless. He started in the kitchens at Heart Castle, and is known to be a talented chef, but for the last couple of years he has worked as personal assistant to the Jack of Hearts.

All of the Jacks of Hearts. His favorite part of the job is that the boss' face keeps changing.

He's a very organized person, despite his personality, and almost as devoted to his job as he is to getting laid as often as possible. Drew doesn't quibble over guys vs. ladies, but is almost completely equal opportunity, and he doesn't concern himself too much if he's flirting with someone in a relationship. They can always say no, after all, and he's not going to police other people's romantic lives.

Hey guys. I swore I'd start slow, but here I am with number three again already...

Eden's back with presents for all of you. :) She left for London rather abruptly back in Februaryish, probably kept in really horribly sporadic contact with most of the folks she spent time with; Zoe got a lavish wedding gift, Ben, Ethan, Riley and Johnny probably got the occasional postcard. She's terrible at staying in touch. But she missed you all and now that her gig in London is over, she's back, and those who knew her before will probably notice she's a bit more focused now. Still as bubbly as ever, just less prone to flakiness!

Clearly she needs someone to catch her up on all the gossip and fill her in on the new folks. :) And if anyone wants to discuss possible visits to London or such in the time she was gone, I'd be up for that too.

So, Jake's coming "home" again, about six inches taller than he was when he left. He's fifteen now, and very nearly six feet tall, although still lanky as can be. Still doesn't talk much, but he's not quite as shy/fearful of folks as before.

He did get adopted when he left the Deck previously, but an unfortunate accident claimed his foster-parents and rather than be shuffled back to the System again, he decided to strike out for better pastures, so to speak. He did manage to keep Mojo, who is almost grown and still the biggest derp ever, his beautiful Sahara and guess what? Sahara is now a mommy!

He'll still be a part of the Heart Suit, but as always, spending most of his time in the stables with his animal family.

HELLO MY LOVELIES

Why yes, yes I have been rather absent lately. And I'm totally sure that bringing a character in after a rather long, fairly unannounced absence is probably the definition of insanity.

But dude. Dude.

It's Jinx. The shyest shy-person to ever shy around shytown. It will go perfectly with my bamfy spy-not-so-master-y-and-more-of-a-busybody-with-delusions-of-grandeur (who's name shall henceforth be shortened to Troll. Bamfy Troll).

Jinx is a Three of Hearts who came to the Deck as a baby and has no plans of every leaving. She tends to work as a scullery maid, though she's an aspiring artist who really enjoys doing pop-up art and sneaking paintings in castles when nobody's looking. Because she doesn't like it when people stare at her while she's doing things.

So, I will probably post this either tonight, or tomorrow night (as I will not be around Tues or Wed), but the Hearts annual Halloween Bash WILL HAPPEN (SO SAYS I). These year's theme/Celebration is the Day of the Dead. (It will actually be a full three day thing, but I'm only going to put for the first night. Look here if you want more information on Día de Muertos) Hadyn, with the help of Ceiro (who is around as an NPC only), has decided that it is a good and friendly way to do Halloween.

Unfortunately the full extent of the celebrations cannot be seen to, as it was a bit last minute, but an alter for offerings will be made, and people are welcome to paint their own faces, get their face painted at the Heart Castle by volunteers, or wear a mask. Everyone is encouraged to dress as a skeletons, but you can come in appropriately themed costumes as well (IE, period pieces typically.)

SO, it will happen.

Due to several people's feelings on the matter, the Halloween post will be redone as something other than the Día de Los Muertos. I do apologize for the misstep, it did not come across as intended.

Hello world, Violet here with a new puppy to bring to the game. This gangly puppy with a mop of hair is Prosper Morin, the Canadian 6 of Clubs whose loves in life are tattoos and biochemistry. He runs one of the only labs in the Deck and he is currently stressing over getting a grant. (Also, regarding his other love, there's a post on his journal with most of just tattoos. :P He's pretty inked up, though I'm on my phone so i can't link anything.) He is a little bitch - sarcastic, snarky, slightly judgmental - but his charisma and energy make him well-liked, for the most part.

He's been in the Deck since he was an awkward lil 10-year-old, so that makes 14 years in December. Any CR is welcomed, though he's a bit too passionate about the science to have ever done any dating.

First kiss though. He's probably done that. At some point.

This is Nisha Kumar, first cousin to Kritika Rao, thirty years old, lifelong Spade, glassblower, and eternal disappointment to her parents for her stubborn unmarried state. A combination of a free spirit and a cool businesswoman, she runs a glass studio in Town where she keeps the furnaces and works, but she still lives in the Castle with her parents - they're kind of traditional, and she's not married yet, so...

Nisha tends to be a bit scruffy in appearance on a day to day basis, as you would be too if you worked for hours with furnaces up to 9000 degrees. Her glass work runs the gamut from artistic vases and bowls to more sculptural work, and she is eternally trying to convince people to let her put something huge, brightly colored and abstract smack in the middle of the Green.

This is Devon, a seven of Hearts who has had a pretty rough go in life thus far. She's sort of bitchy, but mostly because she's afraid to let people get close due to the pattern of loss in her life. And woe be to her father if he ever shows his face on deck again (anyone would be welcome to pick him up if they wanted).

She's 26, runs the Heart's library, and hates people that abuse her silent domain. So beware to he/she who speaks above a whisper in her Library. Just a fair warning now.

I've been gone a darn long time, guys, a darn long time. Been thinking about the Deck lately and here I am, about to screw good with some character emotion, if that's all right with everyone.

Huge changes for me mean that I won't be available all the time and Life-- aka a 14 week-old son!-- will always be taking precedence. BUT. I'm here, I'm excited, and I'm ready to do this as a little treat during Mama-time. I've missed Lance, and I've missed all you lovelies something fierce.

I'm going to play this fast and loose to start; Lance woke from a coma in the Outside, a John Doe in a hospital. He's spent the last year and a half living another life... It is only the very faint but persistant memories of another place that's led him back to the Deck.

So let's do this thing.

Quasi-familiar face ahoy. Emma, bringing back Lelial, the blind now-Four of Diamonds. She's "home" from another long exhausting book-signing tour and more than ready to finish off this current contract with her editor and then retire altogether. She's been back for a month or so, completed a successful challenge and is enjoying all the fall weather ever. Although she really misses Issac, sob.

Hello, Lovelies. I'm alive and kicking. (I've been told I kick hard in case you're wondering.) RL and computer woes have kept me away. I don't know how much I'll be able to be around since computer availability is still a problem, but I am here and will do what I can.

I will probably mostly play Katya and Sophie, though I expect Monty and Tess to show up occasionally. Pretty much I'm open to playing anyone, so ask me if you miss someone.

Right now it looks like the October wedding got postponed for IC reasons which will become apparent, but it's still on. If someone can give me a head's up about Clive, that would be great. I know EJ dropped him, but not sure if he's still considered King of Spades or if Katya is once again pulling her hair out. Honestly, bald is good. She could set a trend. ;D

You all remember how easily enabled I am. Anyway. Ty here, with Dani. Genderqueer, identifies as whatever the heck she feels like that morning, likes breaking brains and is kind of a living ball of sarcasm and prickly. Despite this, she's a Club. It works, I swear. She's been around for three years now, works in the hospital in town as an aide, and has an awesome dog. See?

So...CR, lack of CR, acquaintances, enemies with longstanding grudges? All that good stuff. Hit me.

Okay so I've checked my pulse and apparently I'm alive like what a shocker. So the story is that senior year isn't fun and colleges aren't fun and classes and parents and social lives and you get the idea. But. I am indeed alive.

But I'm barely breathing (okay sorry I had to). Only Blythe and Kritika are coming back with me for real. But, uh, a fresh slate should be interesting?! Let's see what happens. 

And by "for real", I mean that Piper will be around a little for the purpose of Brother getting married. So. Yes. Also let's be real you can probably ask me for most of my other characters and I will pull them out. But. Only Blythe and Kritika for real. 

Hey again, folks. :) Ty here. I had some RL issues spring up all over the place late last year, which resulted in me having to completely drop Caleb, Mano, Eden, and Tobi here. But things have finally settled and life is no longer punching my face in (also, having internet helps), so I'm back! Sort of. Tobi's back, at least, and making life difficult for everyone except Cynric again, and if things go well I'd like to bring Eden back in as well.

For those who knew Tobi, she's just spent the last six months in Italy with horrible family, and will be promptly sticking her nose into everyone's business, as befits any aspiring investigative journalist.

Between new job/business trip/moving/another business trip, RP has kind of taken a back seat. And (sad on one hand/probably good on the other) while I have unblocked internet access at work, I don't have the time to do tags while I'm here, SO...

I will be a lot slower than people are used to.

I am also going to drop Briony, who never has much in the way of CR anyway. She will have decided to move back Outside, though she's happy to be a pharmaceutical liaison for the Deck medical types.

My others (Zoe, Elisha, Avery, Ben, Alasdair, Jordan) will be staying around, but I will probably be focusing my activity more on the Faces.

I just wanted to let you all know I live. However, I did get a promotion at work and it involves a lot of crazy hours and I tend to be very out of it when at home. Anyway, AS A RESULT- I will be cutting back to just two of my characters, Hadyn and Victor. Clive was fun and Addy is always a blast, but a literally just have neither the time nor energy for them.

Anyway, in up side of the news- Hadyn is now the Jack of Hearts. \o/ Fear him. (Or something).
